love bomb

Love bomb = shower with gifts and affection.  Once they feel comfortable with you they begin the abuse which is solely to take the empty and worthless feelings inside themselves and project it outward.  They don't want to feel what they are feeling (empty and worthless) so they dump those feelings on you.  The more empty and worthless they feel - the worse the abuse will be.
